Who we are

About SolarWiedza

An independent resource built for homeowners navigating solar energy decisions in Poland.

Why this portal exists

Solar energy in Poland is a complex topic. The regulatory landscape has shifted considerably since net-billing replaced net-metering in 2022. The Mój Prąd programme has passed through multiple editions with changing rules. Irradiation data differs by region. And most online content is written either by installers with a commercial interest or by government sources using technical language that most homeowners find difficult to interpret.

SolarWiedza exists to fill that gap. We translate publicly available data, legislation, and NFOŚiGW guidelines into plain language. We do not sell panels, inverters, or installation services. We have no commercial relationship with any manufacturer or installer. Our only purpose is to help homeowners understand what they are considering before they make decisions.

Editorial independence

Content on this portal is based on publicly available sources: NFOŚiGW documentation, URE (Energy Regulatory Office) publications, PVGIS irradiation data from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, and Polish energy law. We do not accept advertising from solar installers, panel manufacturers, or energy companies. Readers should always verify subsidy programme details directly with NFOŚiGW before making financial decisions, as programme rules change between editions.

What we cover

How PV systems work. Mój Prąd eligibility and process. Net-billing versus net-metering. Panel sizing for Polish roofs. Regional irradiation and what it means for payback. All in plain language, updated when regulations change.

Our editorial principles

Source-referenced

Claims are grounded in publicly available documents. We cite NFOŚiGW, URE, and PVGIS by name so readers can verify independently.

Jargon-free

Technical terms are explained the first time they appear. We avoid acronyms without definition. The goal is clarity, not expertise signalling.

Non-commercial

We do not sell, recommend, or compare specific products or installers. Content reflects no commercial interest in any purchasing decision you make.

Kept current

Regulations change. Mój Prąd editions come and go. We update content when source documents change and note when information may be subject to revision.
